Assistant Controller
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, PreVeil is looking for an Assistant Controller who’s ready
to roll up their sleeves and grow alongside our business to support our financial operations and
ensure accuracy in financial reporting. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role designed for
someone who thrives in dynamic environments, brings strong accounting fundamentals, is
hungry to help scale and build the finance team, and grow into a future leadership position. The
position is a Hybrid role, reporting to our Boston office.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process to ensure timely and accurate
financial statements. - Prepare and reconcile journal entries, balance sheets, and income statement accounts.
- Primarily handle order entry and invoicing to all customers.
- Establish and improve internal accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
- Support revenue recognition, expense tracking, and accruals in accordance with GAAP
and SaaS-specific best practices. - Key liaison with our investors and bankers for reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors during annual audits and tax filings
- Leverage and help scale accounting and finance systems and identify opportunities to
streamline and automate as we grow. - Support the leadership team with ad-hoc financial tasks and other internal annual
demands.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; CPA License
mandatory. - 4-5 years of relevant experience (public accounting or SaaS industry experience a must).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and ASC 606.
- Proficient in Excel and accounting software; Sage Intacct or similar ERP experience a
must - Emotional intelligence, patience and grit.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate across teams.
- Growth mindset, analytical thinker, and a proactive approach to problem solving.
