Raluca Ada Popa is an assistant professor of computer science at UC Berkeley. Her research is in security and applied cryptography. Raluca has developed practical systems that protect data confidentiality by computing over encrypted data as well as designed novel encryption schemes. Raluca received her PhD in computer security as well as two BS degrees, in computer science and in mathematics, from MIT. She is the recipient of an Intel Early Career Faculty Honor award, George M. Sprowls Award for best MIT CS doctoral thesis, a Google PhD Fellowship, a Johnson award for best CS Masters of Engineering thesis from MIT, and a CRA Outstanding undergraduate award from the ACM.

Ed Cardon
Lieutenant General (Retired)Lieutenant General (Retired) Ed Cardon’s service to our Nation spans over 36 years including work in Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Iraq, and the Republic of Korea.
General Cardon has extensive experience establishing, leading, and transforming 14 different organizations with diverse mission sets such as operations, education, cyber, and innovation. He commanded the 2nd Infantry Division in the Republic of Korea. He both transformed and scaled Army Cyber Command into a world-class cyber force, while simultaneously standing up new cyber organizations to meet the demands of this contested domain including US CYBERCOM’s Task Force ARES, the offensive cyber task force against ISIS. His last assignment was as the Director of Business Transformation for the Army, and he led the task force that helped create Army Futures Command responsible for modernizing the Army.
Today, General Cardon is a founding partner and Co-CEO of Touchstone Futures, Chairman of Federal Systems, C3 AI, a Senior Counselor with The Cohen Group, a Professor of Practice for the Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS), the senior Advisor for the Army Cyber Institute, and a Board Advisor for Shift5. He continues to focus on helping individuals and teams solve hard problems.
