Director of New Market Development
Building New Markets in SaaS Cybersecurity & Compliance
Location: Boston, MA (on-site/hybrid; proximity strongly preferred)
About PreVeil
PreVeil is a rapidly growing SaaS company transforming secure communication and compliance for the modern enterprise.
Our encrypted email and file sharing platform delivers the strength of end-to-end encryption with the simplicity of Dropbox and has been recognized by PC Magazine as the Best Encrypted Email and File Sharing Solution five years in a row.
We are trusted by over 2,200 Defense contractors, helping them protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and comply with CMMC, DFARS, and ITAR — the cybersecurity and export control standards that govern the U.S. Defense Industrial Base. PreVeil’s platform is the gold standard for defense suppliers protecting sensitive information and achieving compliance efficiently.
With our leadership position in Aerospace & Defense established, we are now expanding into Healthcare, Tax, Legal, and Financial Services — industries facing similar security and compliance challenges that PreVeil solves elegantly.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional GTM Leader to build PreVeil’s next growth engine — developing new lines of business in regulated industries beyond Defense.
This is a hands-on go-to-market role supported by your strategy foundation. You’ll advance our expansion hypothesis through customer engagement and rapid testing, using your learnings to refine both the GTM approach and the product as we adapt to the needs of new regulated markets.
Your Mission
- Assess and engage high-potential verticals (Healthcare, Legal, Tax, Finance)
- Design and execute go-to-market strategies for these segments
- Partner with Engineering and Product to influence refinements that optimize the platform for new compliance and workflow requirements
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Channel Partners to validate and scale customer acquisition playbooks
- Build and measure early traction, refine the GTM model, and operationalize it for scale
You will operate as a business builder inside a proven, profitable SaaS company — supported by a strong brand, a loyal customer base, and a leadership team with a track record of building billion-dollar enterprises.
Why This Role Is Exceptional
- Strategic impact meets operational ownership: You’ll design and execute the GTM strategy for entirely new markets.
- Build within a proven platform: Extend strong product-market fit in Defense into massive adjacent industries.
- Collaborate directly with founders: Gain insight from serial entrepreneurs who previously scaled a company to $500M in revenue and a successful public exit.
- Entrepreneurial runway: Opportunity to grow into a GM role or leverage this experience to found your own venture.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct focused market analysis and field validation to define entry strategies for new regulated verticals
- Build and test messaging, acquisition, and channel strategies
- Translate prioritized market feedback into product requirements and refinements, working closely with Engineering
- Develop data-driven frameworks for GTM performance measurement and iteration
- Partner with Marketing to launch experiments and with Sales to convert early adopters into reference customers
Ideal Candidate Profile
Education
- BS or MS in a technical, scientific, or quantitative discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Physics), or demonstrable technical fluency gained through hands-on work with software, SaaS, or engineering teams
- MBA preferred
Experience
- 2–5 years in strategy consulting or equivalent roles with exposure to SaaS, cybersecurity, or GTM strategy
- Prior technical or product-related experience (e.g., engineering, software development, product management, or GTM roles with deep tech collaboration)
- Exposure to regulated industries such as Healthcare, Tax, Legal, or Financial Services is helpful but not required
Skills & Mindset
- Technical fluency and ability to engage confidently with engineering teams
- Entrepreneurial, analytical, and resourceful — thrives in ambiguity and enjoys turning strategy into execution
- Exceptional problem solving, communication, and cross-functional leadership
Location
- Boston-based or able to collaborate in-person multiple days per week
Compensation
Competitive base salary + equity + performance-based incentives.
